MorningStar is a retreat and eco-spiritual life center birthed in 1982 through the vision of Julie Keefer. MorningStar was founded to provide holistic resources, nurturing space, and a caring community to affirm, inform and celebrate women's journey to living an integrated life of body, mind, soul and spirit.
Julie, along with Elise Schlaikjer, who lived at MorningStar from1986 through 2008, spent 22 years creating MorningStar, including purchasing a total of 135 acres of diverse land, building five retreat spaces, a gathering space for small groups, an extensive library, and offering many retreats and workshops, as well as establishing a small community of friends who own lands adjacent to the retreat center.
Now in community on the land are Julie Keefer and Lauren Hodson, who work together to continue providing MorningStar resources to those who seek them.
