You might say we’re old-Fashioned…

Connection
We want to talk to you. Reservations can be made by emailing us (preferred) at morningstar.retreatcenter@gmail.com or by calling 231-884-2789. You will most likely talk to our board president, Marlene, and she will help you book your stay.
-
Cost
This is an investment in you. Stays at Morning Glory, Kay Blue, Raven’s Nest, and Poustinia are $60 per night for the first person, and $40 per night for each additional adult, $25 per child. If this is cost prohibitive, we are happy to talk about accommodations.

Conserve
We do have property managers that open and close the cabins, but the general motto is, “leave no trace.” At the end of your stay, please sweep, vacuum, and wash dishes. Bed linens are not provided; we expect that you will bring your own sheets or a sleeping bag.

MorningStar provides simple, cozy cabins and camping space for solitude and prayer or for your small group process.
Cabins are rustic yet inviting, encouraging re-connection with earth, body and spirit for healing, inspiration and conversation. The cabins are situated within close walking distance of each other, yet are spaced far enough apart to allow for privacy and solitude. There are over 90 acres of diverse forest land to explore right outside your door.
Our clean, quaint composting outhouses are earth-conscious and add character to your experience. Commodes are also available indoors.
All facilities are supplied with an equipped kitchen, basic condiments, cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, and dish towels.
We do not provide linens for the beds, bath towels, food, or housekeeping. We ask that you leave the cabins as you find them. We practice the Wilderness Ethic: What you carry in, you carry out.
Need more cabin space for hosting a retreat or gathering for a reunion? We have arranged reciprocal use of walking trails with our neighbor Air and Sun Acres. They offer 3 additional cabins, a campsite, and meditation loft/ gathering space. You can visit their site here.
